The SCAN seminar series (Séminaires de Chimie Autour des Nanosciences) are monthly conferences devoted to nanoscince.  Speakers presents thier last research achievmentsinsisting though on their main characterisation techniques and methodology (fundamentals, experimental details, …). The main purposes of these seminars is to contribute  to synergical exchangeon  the field of nanoscience as well as to facilitate students acccess to late advances in fundamental research and techniques.

Student  also assist to Lavoisier Lectures. This lectureship is intended to host a distinguished chemist from abroad during one week at the Chemistry Department of the University Paris Diderot. The Lavoisier lectures were launched in 2009, and since then Daniel Nocera (MIT), Gary Schuster (Georgia Tech), George Whitesides (Harvard), John Seinfeld (Caltech), Naomi Halas (Rice University), Patrick Unwin (Warwick University) and Meinrat Andreae (Max Planck Institute for Chemistry in Mainz) have been hosted by the Chemistry Department. The laureate gives a serie of three lectures and this is the occasion for the students to discover the great challenges faced by chemists of the 21st century.
